With three working locations and five more opening within the next year, Cali Coffee is the drive-thru coffee shop that has taken Broward by storm. In this short interview, owners Craig and Rose talk about their inspiration and business model while giving us a glimpse of how the shop works.
Chad has made bringing his kids to Cali Coffee a father-and-son experience, precisely what Craig and Rose intended when starting this brand. At the core of their business model is ensuring that clients get great coffee and receive stellar service.
During our interview, Craig mentions Cali is also the "anti-coffee shop coffee shop", and explains "in the sense that... we don't want to make people feel dumb for ordering something that's too boojie or not boojie enough." That is something that some of us who have been rudely (and loudly) corrected numerous times for ordering a "large" cup of coffee at a place that calls them "venti" can surely appreciate.
We cannot talk about Cali Coffee without mentioning their custom stickers and hand-written notes. When Chad comes with his kids, they get custom stickers designed by Craig that have become a staple of this coffee shop. In addition, if you follow #calicoffee on social media, you will see countless patrons posting hand-written notes on the lids of their coffee cups.
This coffee shop differs from what many of us have gotten used to. You can expect a high-energy environment, a friendly smile behind the counter, and a good cup of coffee when visiting any of their locations. Cali Coffee gets our seal of approval.
